HMS 'Active' Kaffir & Zulu Wars (1) Royal Marines UK Portsmouth Kaffir ( 1877-1888 ) & Zulu ( 1879 ) Wars Memorial located Victoria Park, Portsmouth Inscription: This monument was erected by the Officers and Ship's Company of HMS 'Active' late Flag ship on the West Coast of Africa to perpetuate the memory of those of their shipmates who perished while gallantly doing their duty with the Naval Brigade of that ship.
